Production Planning Engineer

HSBMA•Kingston, GA

About The Position

The Production Planning Engineer plans Electrode, Assembly, and Formation production schedules by reviewing process capability, inventory status, and abnormal conditions. The engineer maintains daily production data—including operation rates, yield, OEE, and downtime—and prepares reports from production-related information. The role prepares and distributes production plans to ensure finished-goods availability. The position manages production master data and orders, updates production targets and schedules, tracks results, and coordinates production projects and 4M activities with production groups. It analyzes production and packaging capacity, manages cell inventory with Formation and Logistics, supports inventory phase-out planning, and monitors movement of electrode cells between plants. The engineer also prepares performance, forecast, catch-up, action, customer, and closing reports; leads or supports production meetings; and participates in headquarters meetings via Webex as needed. The role works routinely with production, quality, logistics, inventory control, and other relevant departments. It requires enforcing 5S, communicating with employees and management at all levels, and managing multiple tasks and day-to-day decisions. The position reports to the Production Control Manager or designee. Work takes place in office, production, and construction-site environments. The employee must wear company-provided uniforms; at production sites, required PPE includes safety shoes, a helmet, safety glasses, and a portable gas measuring device. Potential workplace risks include noise above 90 dB in the compressor room, temperatures of 104–122°F in various rooms, and possible exposure to hazardous materials such as heating medium oil, NMP, and water-treatment chemicals.
