About The Position

Production Planner III is responsible for supporting the company’s production planning and procurement activities for purchased and manufactured parts. This role focuses on short- and long-term planning, cost analysis, and ensuring that planning and procurement activities align with the company’s operational and strategic objectives. Additionally, Planner III coordinates the monthly S&OP activities including coordinating with sales, operations, procurement, conducting detailed analyses, and generating reports to evaluate inventory levels. This is a highly visible role that will own the full planning cycle for our most complex parts with the opportunity to streamline and standardize processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or related.
  • 5+ years’ thorough experience in sourcing, procurement, production planning or scheduling, or supply chain management. Experience with multi-level end-to-end planning.
  • Strong analytical, project management and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge in process mapping and documenting.
  • Excellent communication at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ERP systems, IBP and procurement tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establish the production schedules, monitor inventory levels, and track progress of the production schedule for materials and finished goods.
  • Modify and adapt production schedules and order changes to accommodate revisions, cancellations, or priorities.
  • Identify factors which may affect the production schedules. Develop and execute recovery plans.
  • Plan and release manufacturing orders based on material requirements planning (MRP).
  • Leverage MRP to ensure data accuracy.
  • Leads weekly plan and schedule reviews with operations and management.
  • Prepare instructions regarding production planning systems and procedures.
  • Assist lead S&OP activities including capacity and demand planning.
  • Contribute to the development of strategies to reduce costs, lead times and improve production efficiency while maintaining quality and reliability.
  • Identify opportunities to improve planning and scheduling practices.
  • Maintain accurate part data within the system.
  • Ensure parameters support efficient replenishment, productivity, and material flow.
  • Review and maintain stocking levels. Support demand planning processes.
  • Completes regular inventory assessments to meet inventory targets.
  • Works closely with Sales to determine product availability. Communicates date changes as needed.
  • Support material purchases, tracking, and analysis.
  • Process incoming purchase order requisitions, change orders, and acknowledgments.
  • Provide support to leadership in developing and executing strategies.
  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain. Recommends and implements mitigation strategies.
  • Support the development of contingency plans to address supply disruptions or changes in market conditions.
  • Ensure all buying and planning activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and international trade regulations.
  • Work with engineering teams to confirm accurate part set up. Coordinate necessary adjustments.
  • Support new planners with onboarding and training. Leads ongoing training.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for planning team and internal customers.
  • Prepare departmental KPI dashboards.
