About The Position

The Town of Johnstown is seeking a Planner III to perform a wide variety of municipal planning and project management functions. This role involves land use planning and research, code updates, administration and management associated with the overall development process, mentoring of planners, daily "on-call" planning questions, and ancillary land use and development functions. The position operates in a high-energy, high-production environment and requires a candidate eager to learn, grow, and contribute. The Planner III works under the direct supervision of the Director to carry out assigned duties in both routine and complex circumstances. Johnstown is a growing municipality with diverse priorities, facing challenges such as implementing a new Comprehensive Plan, managing rapid development, and innovating processes.
