About The Position

The Production Packer provides frontline manufacturing support by safely operating packaging processes to ensure finished products meet quality, productivity, and customer requirements. The role supports efficient production through equipment monitoring, product inspection, material handling, and communication with production team members. It works with moderate independence within established procedures, addresses routine process issues, makes minor equipment adjustments, and supports continuous operational performance in a safe, quality-focused manufacturing environment. The position is based at Reynolds Consumer Products’ manufacturing plant in South Boston, Virginia. Shifts are 12 AM–12 PM or 12 PM–12 AM, on a 2/2/3 schedule with off days rotating each week. Pay is $18.74 per hour, with a $0.23-per-hour night-shift differential.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to perform repetitive work while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
Knowledge of basic manufacturing safety and quality practices.
Ability to safely operate production equipment while following established procedures.
Ability to identify product defects and perform routine quality inspections.
Ability to make minor equipment adjustments and recognize routine operating issues.
Ability to maintain production records accurately.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members across shifts.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
Basic mathematical and problem-solving skills.

Previous manufacturing or warehouse experience.

Responsibilities

Operate assigned packaging equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with production standards.
Feed raw materials into production equipment to maintain continuous manufacturing operations.
Inspect finished products for compliance with quality specifications and identify defects requiring corrective action.
Package finished products in configurations that meet customer and shipping requirements.
Monitor equipment operating conditions, including production codes, dates, and process parameters.
Perform minor equipment adjustments and basic repairs using appropriate hand tools.
Conduct routine quality checks and implement approved process adjustments.
Maintain accurate production, quality, and shift documentation.
Monitor raw material inventory and communicate shortages.
Communicate equipment status, production issues, and operational updates during shift transitions.
Follow safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements.
Maintain productivity, housekeeping, and work-area organization standards.
Perform other duties consistent with the scope and level of the position as assigned.
