About The Position

Airgas is hiring a Production Operator in Henderson, Colorado. The operator uses compression temperature/pressure methods to fill high-pressure industrial, medical, and mixed-gas cylinders. The role includes operating and caring for equipment used to pump or repackage gases into cylinders, completing and supporting inspections and tests before and after filling, and removing cylinders from service when they require maintenance or repair. The operator also monitors pumping apparatus, pressure gauges, and related devices; fills cylinders to the appropriate pressure or weight; and maintains accurate filling records in accordance with required procedures and applicable regulations. Other duties include assisting with truck and trailer loading and unloading, supporting inventory and housekeeping, and helping customers when necessary. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Overtime may be required. The hourly base pay range is $27.00 to $27.50. Airgas describes a comprehensive benefits package, with benefits beginning after 30 days of employment.

Requirements

Ability to become forklift certified.
Ability to read and comprehend written and computer-generated documents.
Valid U.S. employment authorization; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
Ability to perform very heavy work, routinely lifting 25–75 pounds and occasionally lifting 76 to more than 100 pounds.
Ability to work overtime.

Responsibilities

Fill high-pressure industrial, medical, and mixed-gas cylinders using the compression temperature/pressure method.
Operate and care for equipment used to pump or repackage gases into cylinders.
Guide and support required pre-fill and post-fill inspections and tests before cylinders are released.
Remove cylinders needing maintenance or repair from service until they are corrected.
Inspect and support upkeep of pumping apparatus, pressure gauges, and monitoring devices.
Fill cylinders or containers to the proper pressure or weight.
Maintain accurate filling records and follow required procedures and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Assist with loading and unloading trucks and trailers when required.
Support inventory and general housekeeping, and help customers when necessary.
