The Production Operator position involves performing general labor and production duties, including cleanup and other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor. The employee will provide support to production crews as needed to maintain efficient operations. Flexibility is essential, as the employee may be required to accept temporary job upgrades or participate in training for upgraded positions when requested as refusing an upgrade or training for an upgrade is not allowed.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of prior experience working in a heavy industrial/manufacturing setting preferred
  • High school education or equivalent
  • Attain the required WorkKeys assessment score for this position
  • Problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Must be able to earn forklift license and maintain competency with driving a forklift
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed
  • The ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with routine production operations, including packing and grading of materials.
  • Safely start up, operate and shutdown production equipment and periodic lockout / tag-outs to clear line jams or machine repairs.
  • Operate Jack Stackers to neatly and safely stack boards according to company standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
  • Perform quality inspections of products to achieve quality standards, minimize rework and contain non-conforming materials.
  • Follow all safety procedures to prevent injury and avoid damage to equipment or materials.
  • Monitor line operations and promptly relieve jams or stoppages when possible to maintain workflow.
  • Perform duties as directed and coordinated by the Line Leader or supervision.
  • Work under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor.
