About The Position

The Production Operator role is within the Supply Chain department and involves ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials within a plant warehouse setting. This position requires operating a forklift to load and unload finished products and raw materials, interpreting customer orders for accurate shipment, and recording shipping data. The operator will also be responsible for basic equipment troubleshooting and maintenance, and actively participating in plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives. Adaptability to scheduling requirements, including shiftwork and overtime, is essential.

Requirements

Able to safely operate a forklift in a manufacturing setting.
Ability to inspect and troubleshoot the forklift to detect issues and maximize operational availability.
Ability to interpret verbal instructions and written documents such as customer orders.
Ability to apply basic computer skills required for data entry and reporting.
Proficiency at accurately recording shipping data.
Possess basic maintenance skills needed to help service equipment.
Effective teamwork and communication skills needed with all co-workers.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Responsibilities

Adhere to all safety/housekeeping requirements within a plant warehouse setting.
Use of forklift in the timely loading or unloading of finished product and raw materials to/from trucks/railcars, and from the production line.
Interpret customer orders so as to pull, stage, load, and check materials in a manner that ensures accurate and timely shipment.
Recording of shipping data and other results in the manner required.
Troubleshoot and apply basic maintenance skills to help service equipment.
Take an active role in all plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives as required by supervision.
Adaptable to scheduling requirements including shiftwork, assignment of overtime, working weekends, etc. where applicable.
