About The Position

Singer Vehicle Design is seeking a Supply Chain Planner to join their team in Carson, CA. This role is crucial for ensuring the fulfillment of production parts, minimizing risks to part availability, and supporting efficient material flow. The planner will act as the primary supply chain contact for the Production team, managing commodities from purchase order initiation to stock. Responsibilities include monitoring inventory, forecasting, tracking delivery performance, identifying supply constraints, and developing mitigation plans. The role requires strong collaboration with Engineering, Procurement, Production, and Logistics, as well as effective communication with senior leaders and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, a problem-solver, and share a passion for high-quality automobiles.

Requirements

Associate degree
Two (2) plus years of related experience as Material Planner, Production Planner, Buyer, Program Manager, Operations Lead, or equivalent
Proven ability to manage demand planning and supply planning within MRP
Proficient in MRP systems

Responsibilities

Ensure fulfillment of production parts, while eliminating risks to part availability and production impacts
Assure the smooth and cost-efficient material flow to support operations
Coordinate closely with Engineering, Procurement, Production, and Logistics to ensure correct supply for manufacturing the right quantity and configurations of products to satisfy customer demand
Clearly communicate potential risks and mitigation strategies to various senior leaders and stakeholders
Serve as the Supply Chain point of contact for the Production team and own the delivery of commodities from purchase order initiation to stock
Monitor and manage inventories and forecast sales and production levels for needed materials
Track inventory delivery performance and response time, and manage other logistics projects
Identify part supply constraints that may impact production schedule and create mitigation plans with commodity management/procurement/supply chain continuity teams
Execute risk management analysis, considering past performance data, demand vs. supply, and lead time stack-ups
Work in a cross-functional team environment as a strong team player and demonstrate ability to work with other functional groups to achieve company-wide goals
Serve as the tactical point of contact to support local plant Supply Chain needs, supporting efficient and effective execution of product planning and procurement
Analyze and confirm material requirements and inventory on hand or in transit to optimize overall supply chain planning
Ensure on-time delivery of purchased material, at (or below) planned costs
Ensure Purchase Orders are issued/provided to qualified suppliers at correct pricing and MOQs per procurement’s strategic sourcing direction and commercial contracts
Day-to-day supplier contact, conducting follow up, scheduling material pick up and drop off, processing RMAs, and ensuring supplier is set up for success
Provide bills of materials and other information to suppliers to ensure proper execution of non-turnkey purchase orders
Hold weekly and/or bi-weekly open order review meetings with assigned suppliers to ensure alignment on expected purchase order due dates
Build cross-functional teams and champions continuous improvement initiatives to meet or exceed cost, quality, and delivery goals
Proactively provide status and update the team on critical supply issues
