About The Position

Commonwealth Rolled Products is seeking a Production Operator for its production facility in Lewisport, Kentucky. The role contributes to the overall operating process by working safely, efficiently, and effectively while providing quality products to customers. The operator may perform a variety of duties across one or more departments, operate mobile equipment, maintain a clean and orderly workplace, troubleshoot operational problems, and work with coworkers and leaders to meet company standards and customer expectations. Job focus and assignments may change frequently based on operational needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to self-start while following directions.
• Good reading and comprehension skills.
• Pass an employer test evaluating problem-solving skills used by the automotive industry.
• Availability to work all shifts, on either a rotational or straight-shift assignment.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen.
• Capability and willingness to train in other job classifications.
• Flexibility to accommodate frequently changing job focus and assignments based on operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Work safely in compliance with company safety and environmental requirements, policies, and regulatory statutes.
• Notify appropriate personnel of irregularities in operating equipment or materials and maintain clean, orderly work-area conditions.
• Carry out various operations in the performance of assigned work.
• Operate mobile equipment, including forklifts, skid steers, and overhead cranes.
• Coordinate with coworkers, supervisors, engineers, and managers to ensure work meets corporate standards and consumer expectations.
• Troubleshoot problems using lean systems, including A3 thinking, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis.
• Perform various or repetitive tasks in one or more departments as assigned.
• Help maintain an organized and clean workplace, including assigned plant areas, workstations, equipment, walkways, and locker rooms.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
