About The Position

Brulin has an immediate opening for a Production Operator. In this role, a candidate can expect to perform a variety of duties related to the manufacturing process. They will blend products following batch sheets, perform simple, routine quality control tests to ensure product quality, receive raw materials ensuring accuracy of product received and testing for quality, pump finished product to appropriate storage or fill product containers, and label containers following DOT labeling regulations. Demonstrates awareness and competency relevant to both the Environmental Management System (EMS) and the Quality Management System (QMS), including but not limited to policies, objectives, and compliance obligations related to International Organization for Standardization (ISO) system.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school education or equivalent education.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds routinely.
  • Work Experience in a manufacturing/production environment, chemical or other production experience preferred.
  • Visual and hearing acuity to perform job related functions.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in safe handling and operation of forklift.
  • Ability to make arithmetic calculations, read and follow written instructions proficiently, communicate effectively, organized and detailed oriented, and proficient at multi-tasking.

Responsibilities

  • Blends chemicals for all liquid products following instructions on batch sheet.
  • Operates air hoist equipment to weigh and pour raw materials into mixing kettle.
  • Operates pneumatic pumps and hooks them to outlets.
  • Visually checks finished products storage tanks and alerts supervisor when product is running low.
  • Pulls samples of raw material and finished goods and takes them to Lab to run various routine Quality Control checks.
  • Receives and inspects raw materials ensuring that it has passed the Quality Control process.
  • If acceptable, unloads material to assigned area or pumps raw material to storage tanks.
  • If Q.C. tests are not acceptable, alerts the supervisor.
  • Checks receiving paperwork to ensure accuracy of raw materials delivered.
  • Keeps supervisor abreast of obvious shortages in raw material that need to be ordered.
  • Hand-fills, labels, and puts lids on product containers of varying sizes following DOT labeling guidelines.
