Production Operator - 2nd Shift
About The Position
Prestolite Electric/Leece-Neville, a global manufacturer of alternators and starter motors for the heavy-duty vehicle market, is hiring Production Operators at its Arcade, New York location. The role involves operating machines, assembling components and finished products, and testing parts. Operators may be assigned to one or more of these activities during a shift and may move between jobs according to production schedules. The work may involve sitting or standing for varying lengths of time, using production equipment, handling commonly used factory chemicals, maintaining production records, following process specifications, and keeping workstations neat and clean.
Requirements
- Reliable attendance and punctuality, including adherence to assigned work schedules and shift requirements.
- Ability to work with chemicals commonly found in factory production, including flux, solder, epoxy, adhesives, and silastics.
- Ability to operate production equipment such as solder irons and other solder equipment, air drivers, potting equipment, and electrical pass-fail test equipment.
- Ability to frequently lift 20 lbs.
- Ability to perform work that may require sitting or standing for varying lengths of time.
- Must wear safety shoes, safety glasses, and other required safety equipment.

- High school education or G.E.D. preferred.
Responsibilities
- Run machines, assemble components and finished products, and/or test parts, as assigned.
- Move between jobs as needed during a shift.
- Maintain required charts and graphs.
- Become familiar with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Read and sign process specifications related to assigned work.
- Keep workstations neat and clean.
- Use required safety shoes, safety glasses, and other safety equipment.
