About The Position

The Production Operator works at GAF’s Ennis, Texas manufacturing site in a safety-focused industrial environment. The role supports production and packaging operations, including handling fibers, finished products, scrap, and packaging materials. Operators work rotating 12-hour day and night shifts on a predictable schedule, with 36–48 scheduled hours per week. The position requires following safety policies and procedures, maintaining housekeeping standards, and supporting the package-end operation and other tasks assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally face-to-face, over the phone, and in writing.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to work alone for extended periods.
• Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment around and with crushed limestone granules, boiler slag granules and fines, limestone filler, fiberglass mat, and petroleum-based products.
• Adequate training and basic knowledge of package-end operation to support assigned tasks.
• Frequent lifting is required.

Responsibilities

• Unload fibers.
• Receive materials safely and organize storage to prevent container damage.
• Transport finished product to the warehouses.
• Collect and transport scrap waste for disposal.
• Maintain stock of materials used for packaging.
• Assist at the winder with packaging finished product.
• Maintain housekeeping standards.
• Learn and follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Support the package-end operation and other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
