About The Position

Heartland Food Products Group is hiring a Production Operator for its Aseptic department at the manufacturing plant in Indianapolis, Indiana. This is an on-site role. The operator efficiently operates machinery and maintains accurate, high-quality documentation. The position follows applicable safety, food safety, food security, and manufacturing regulations, and may include cross-training in other Displays areas as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to understand oral and written instructions in English.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to learn and attention to detail.
Ability to work well in a team environment and strong communication skills.
Ability to perform the listed physical functions and lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to work extended hours, including daily overtime and occasional weekends, and to stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Promote safety and follow safety guidelines at all times.
Observe machine operation to detect product defects or malfunctions and adjust machinery within tolerances as needed.
Position, load, and secure production stock manually or with power-assisted equipment.
Make minor electrical and mechanical repairs and adjustments, and notify a supervisor or maintenance when major service is required.
Start up and shut down manufacturing equipment in accordance with SOPs.
Complete and maintain permanent company and customer records neatly and accurately.
Follow food safety and food security guidelines, including Safe Quality Foods (SQF) good manufacturing practices and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points.
Use problem-solving skills and initiative.
Comply with food manufacturing and safety regulations.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and other employees.
Cross-train to perform work in other Displays areas as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
