About The Position

The Production Operator safely and efficiently operates the equipment needed to package finished goods in a batch-process chemical manufacturing environment. The role involves following production documentation and directions, maintaining equipment and work areas, meeting safety and quality standards, and communicating operational issues to facility leadership.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of computers.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to work as a member of a team.
• Ability to climb stairs, stand or sit for extended periods, and safely lift up to 55 pounds repetitively.
• Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods.
• Ability to work a consistent schedule Tuesday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Six months of work experience in a chemical environment.
• Forklift operation experience.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with supervisors and facility leadership about safety, production, quality, and other operational issues.
• Follow and perform Bill of Materials, Batch Sheets, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Set up, adjust, operate, change over, monitor, troubleshoot, and clean production line equipment.
• Package batches according to safety, quality, and efficiency standards, using SOPs, batch sheets, and verbal directions.
• Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including a half-face respirator when required.
• Meet packaging quality expectations, including fill weights, package appearance, and correct labeling.
• Maintain clean work areas in accordance with 5S protocol.
• Assist in identifying quality problems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
