Production Operator

About The Position

Persons employed in this position are responsible for performing production operations, including using equipment to meet company quality and quantity standards. Operators rotate among jobs to produce high-quality products in a timely manner and ensure customer satisfaction. The position is on the second shift, Monday through Friday, from 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

Requirements

Attention to detail.
Good or corrected eyesight to ensure quality of work.
Ability to use both hands for repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
Ability to occasionally lift 55 pounds.
Ability to read and comprehend simple work instructions, engineering drawings, and company policies.
Ability to perform simple math, including weight conversion, multiplication, and division.
Ability to use a calculator.
High school diploma or GED.
At least one year of production experience or training.

Responsibilities

Perform operations on machines, operating equipment, and production fixtures.
Verify part accuracy using measuring equipment and gauges.
Complete required production-line paperwork.
Quality-check parts in the assigned process.
Assist new employees in learning to operate equipment and read specification sheets and engineering drawings.
Read work orders, follow engineering drawings or verbal instructions, and assemble, position, and align parts as specified.
Rotate among departmental jobs in this job classification.
Attend required training.
Adhere to quality and safety systems and maintain quality and safety standards.
Complete special projects as assigned.
