The Production Operator I operates routine production machinery to produce parts that meet specifications and tolerances. The role measures and inspects finished parts, records production, reports rejected or discarded pieces, and performs basic equipment checks and adjustments. The operator also maintains a clean and safe work area and follows safety regulations.

Requirements

• Typically, a high school diploma or equivalent and up to 2 years of relevant experience.
• Willingness to follow directions and work well in a team.
• Ability to interpret and translate job specifications for production machinery.
• Fundamental understanding of production equipment or the ability to learn it quickly.

Responsibilities

• Operate routine production machinery according to provided prints and specifications.
• Carry out routine production activities to produce the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.
• Measure finished parts with precision tools to ensure they meet function, quality, and cosmetic specifications.
• Maintain logs and records of units produced.
• Report errors that result in rejected or discarded pieces.
• Inspect equipment before use to ensure proper setup and alignment.
• Perform basic and routine equipment adjustments and maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Follow safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
