About The Position

The Production Operator I sets up, blends, and packages dry chemical powders and maintains blending tools and equipment. The role involves producing mixes to specification, packaging and handling materials and finished goods, sampling products for quality checks, operating production equipment, and maintaining a clean and safe facility. The operator may assist maintenance and train new employees, and may be assigned other duties by the Plant Manager or Operations Director.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Be punctual and dependable.
Have reliable transportation to and from work.
Maintain a cooperative attitude toward coworkers and supervisors.
Work with gloves and eye protection frequently.
Be available for overtime when needed; the schedule may change on short notice based on customer demand.

Nice To Haves

Previous forklift experience.
Previous experience in a production and/or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Make daily mixes to specification by weighing and dumping ingredients.
Package materials in bags, jumbo sacks, vessels, or bulk tankers.
Complete daily paperwork.
Sample produced products for quality checks.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment and perform general production-facility cleanup.
Assist the maintenance department when required.
Operate a forklift truck and/or yard truck to move trailers.
Unload raw materials and load finished goods.
Operate the control panel.
Handle hazardous materials safely.
Safely operate all equipment used in the production area.
Assist with training new employees.
Perform other duties assigned by the Plant Manager or Operations Director.
