About The Position

This role operates on a Weekend Evening Schedule, working from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The Production Operator is responsible for setting up, running, and adjusting machines to ensure efficient production. This includes reading job specifications, setting up machines according to requirements, monitoring machine operation for defects or malfunctions, inspecting finished products for accuracy, and performing minor machine maintenance like oiling and adjustments. The role also involves assisting coworkers with machine setup, product handling, and reducing downtime. A strong emphasis is placed on adhering to safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Basic understanding of mechanical principles
Ability to troubleshoot and adjust machine.

Responsibilities

Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirement; sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
Activates machine and observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.
Inspects finish product to determine accuracy of machine operation.
Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines and making adjustments.
Assists coworkers to set up machine, and to stack, mark, pack, and transport finished product.
Reduces downtime by assuring these tasks are performed promptly.
Complies with safety and GMP requirements.
Supports a culture of safe production and operations; follows all safety rules and procedures.
Actively participates in the safety program by: engaging in training activities to learn what constitutes a safety hazard; reporting safety concerns to the supervisor, submitting safety suggestions, and correct or report to the appropriate people when you see a workplace health or safety hazard, until it is resolved.
Assists with communicating safety information to new employees.
Fulfills responsibilities as outlined in the company safety management plan.
