About The Position

The Production Operator 1 operates core builders and fin mill machines, including using manual mode to step through processes and troubleshoot. The role coordinates and technically leads changeovers through completion, approves changeover setups and product quality, and supports improvement of core build operations. It also provides first-level technical assistance to corebuild job setters, performs machine repairs, upgrades, and FM's, and monitors and troubleshoots corebuild and fin mill defects, including backend results. The position is responsible for training and skill levels of job setters and for tooling condition and cleaning plans.

Requirements

Preferred mechanical background.
Experience operating core builders and fin mill machines.
Ability to understand program and equipment interfaces.
Ability to adjust tooling as needed for proper production setup.

Responsibilities

Operate core builders and fin mill machines, including in manual mode to step through processes and troubleshoot.
Coordinate, assign responsibilities for, and technically lead changeovers through completion to produce good parts.
Approve changeover setups and product quality.
Troubleshoot issues using the 5W method and a logical process.
Adjust tooling as needed for proper production setup.
Drive process improvements for core build operations.
Provide first-level assistance to corebuild job setters.
Perform repairs, upgrades, and FM's on machines.
Provide instructional authority on technical issues involving corebuild and fin mill.
Monitor and troubleshoot corebuild and fin mill defects, including backend results.
Train job setters and support their skill development.
Maintain tooling condition and cleaning plans.
