About The Position

The Lead Person provides front line resources in issues relating to activities and personnel within the Streamline Cabinets and Dowell Drawer boxes department. Delivers daily huddle, utilizes daily shipping apps to set daily goals and work assignments for team members. Steps in and can operate all equipment in area and perform all processes required for cabinets, face frames and Dowell drawer boxes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Minimum of six (6) months related experience in a lead person role.
  • Demonstrated experience operating machinery safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills; bilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of groups and delivering training or presentations.
  • Proficient in basic mathematics and computer applications.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and support team members.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds on a periodic basis.
  • Commitment to workplace safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement principles.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary link between management and production team members, ensuring clear communication and efficient daily operations.
  • Provide technical expertise, coaching, guidance, and hands-on training to support employee development and operational excellence.
  • Monitor inventory needs and coordinate the replenishment of materials, tools, and supplies to maintain uninterrupted production.
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and promptly communicate maintenance or repair requirements to leadership.
  • Support the organization and maintenance of department machinery, workstations, and materials to promote a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Partner with the Supervisor/Manager to coordinate daily work assignments, prioritize tasks, and communicate expectations to team members.
  • Develop and maintain standardized work instructions, visual aids, Job Instruction Breakdowns (JIBs), training materials, and operating procedures.
  • Lead the implementation of approved process improvements and ensure team members are effectively trained on process changes.
  • Champion a culture of safety, quality, productivity, and accountability by leading through example and adhering to company standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing tools such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), PK, 5 Whys, 2-Second Lean (2SL), and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented environment that encourages ownership, collaboration, and effective conflict resolution.
  • Actively participate in cross-functional projects, improvement teams, and Kaizen events to support operational goals.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by department leadership.
