About The Position

National Vision is seeking an experienced Production Manager for its optical manufacturing facility in Plano, Texas. The role manages all aspects of the production departments and coordinates workflow through those departments while controlling costs and maintaining a safe, secure operation. The Production Manager oversees production quality and performance, supports and coaches supervisors, maintains budgets and performance records, and ensures company policies and procedures are followed.

Requirements

7 to 10 years of experience in a related field.
At least 5 years of supervisor or management experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read and write English.
Beginner to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
Ability to sustain light physical effort involving 20 pounds or less.

Nice To Haves

Intermediate knowledge of JDA and DVI.

Responsibilities

Oversee production operations to achieve required quality and performance levels.
Use supervisors and team leads to ensure employees receive appropriate training on processes, standard operating procedures, equipment, and safety.
Maintain production department budgets, including labor, supplies, consumables, spoilage, and equipment costs.
Control costs and production metrics.
Work with other department managers to resolve interdepartmental issues.
Submit daily reports on department progress.
Ensure safety and cleanliness standards are met in all work areas.
Assist in analyzing and recommending purchases of new equipment.
Coach supervisors to ensure consistent communication and associate coaching in accordance with company policy.
Maintain performance records for production supervisors.
Review associate performance through the HR performance management system.
Interview and select production department candidates with assistance from department supervisors.
Update and implement department policies and procedures, and enforce company policies and procedures.
