About The Position

The Production & Manufacturing Manager assists with overseeing and enhancing production operations, ensuring manufacturing processes run smoothly and efficiently. The role monitors employees, organizes workflows, and works closely with the Director of Manufacturing to ensure production responsibilities are completed and communicated appropriately. The manager reviews processes for improvements, documents new processes, and works with employees to implement them. The goal is to optimize daily activities, minimize costs, and ensure production processes deliver products of maximum quality profitably.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Production Assistant Manager or in a similar role.
Ability to work on site in Urbana, Illinois daily.
Excellent note-taking skills and process documentation.
Intermediate skills in MS Office.
Organizational and leadership abilities.
Communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
Problem-solving skills.
High school diploma.

Nice To Haves

A degree in management, a technical field, engineering, or a relevant field is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Document existing production processes and controls.
Create new processes and enhance existing processes to improve efficiency and consistency.
Install lean manufacturing principles.
Work with the Director of Manufacturing to develop new automations and workflows.
Set daily, weekly, and monthly objectives and communicate them to employees.
Organize workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules.
Oversee and coach employees.
Ensure the safe use of equipment and schedule regular maintenance.
Check production output against specifications.
Document processes and procedures and assist the Director of Manufacturing with creating new procedures and processes for production employees.
