About The Position

The Production & Manufacturing Manager supports oversight and continuous improvement of production operations, working closely with the Director of Manufacturing. The role monitors employees, organizes workflows, and helps ensure production responsibilities are completed and communicated appropriately. It requires careful note-taking, evaluating processes for improvement, documenting new procedures, and working with employees to implement them. The manager helps optimize daily operations while controlling costs so that production processes deliver high-quality products profitably.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Production Assistant Manager or in a similar role.
Ability to work on site in Urbana, Illinois, daily.
Excellent note-taking skills and process documentation skills.
Intermediate skills in MS Office.
Organizational and leadership abilities.
Communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
Problem-solving skills.
High school diploma.

Nice To Haves

A degree in management, a technical field, engineering, or a relevant field is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Document existing production processes and controls.
Create new processes and enhance existing processes to improve efficiency and consistency.
Install lean manufacturing principles.
Work with the Director of Manufacturing to develop new automations and workflows.
Set daily, weekly, and monthly objectives and communicate them to employees.
Organize workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules.
Oversee and coach employees.
Ensure safe use of equipment and schedule regular maintenance.
Check production output against specifications.
Coordinate with the Director of Manufacturing to establish production objectives and communicate them to production employees.
Document processes and procedures and assist the Director of Manufacturing with creating new procedures and processes.
