About The Position

The Production Manager is responsible for the on-time production planning of Wilmot Modular’s fleet and for seeking product quality and production improvements. His/her responsibility includes managing the production crew, as well as, managing the efficient utilization of materials and supplies. The Production Manager is charged with ethically and safely maintaining and improving the areas of responsibility to meet Wilmot Modular’s safety, quality, environmental, cost and production goals.

Requirements

  • Construction production experience is a requirement
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience supervising a team
  • Must have general hand tool, carpentry knowledge and experience
  • A current valid license and good driving record required
  • Demonstrated production planning, budgeting, and on-time delivery experience required
  • Willingness & ability to learn and train new construction methods and trades
  • Ability to lift/move 40 lbs
  • Good communications skills to interact with and supervise internal team
  • Have a solid work ethic that includes doing the right thing, being reliable, trustworthy and honest

Nice To Haves

  • Modular experience is strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily production activities, ensuring quality standards are met and time is managed effectively across the team
  • Work closely with the Branch Manager to continuously improve overall branch production, efficiency, and operational performance
  • Ensure all production areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with 5S standards and processes
  • Manage and maintain work orders (WOs), ensuring timely updates and closure
  • Oversee and maintain accurate inventory levels, ensuring proper tracking, organization, and availability of materials
  • Ensure returned units are inspected and properly documented upon arrival
  • Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of assigned staff
  • Manage all outbound assets to meet Wilmot’s quality control standards
  • Manages, performs and supervises repairs/modifications to buildings including framing, finish carpentry, electrical, flooring, plumbing, painting, HVAC, running gear, and all other facets of building repairs
  • Responsible for maintaining an organized yard layout and proper zoning to support safe, efficient operations
  • Promote a strong safety culture by enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular safety talks, and ensuring a safe working environment for all team members
  • Maintain yard equipment to promote safe operation and extend the lifespan of forklift, skid steers, and other machinery
  • Understand, analyze, and train on less than 30-day service calls
  • Own all production quality by setting standards, monitoring performance, and ensuring consistent execution across all operations
  • Approve and manage direct reports’ Time Off Request
  • Build sustainable relationships and trust with customers and vendor partners
  • Collaborate with HR for recruiting and workforce training/planning
  • Review daily/weekly performance KPI’s
  • Provides managerial oversight of subcontractors pertaining to rolling stock
  • Conducts timely and constructive performance evaluations
  • Handle coaching, mentoring, employee development, and motivation of all direct reports
  • Handle discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy
  • Enforce the mandated Impairment Assessment daily with all direct reports
