Effectively manage manufacturing operations for the assigned shift and to meet plant goals for safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Maintaining a presence on the plant floor at least 60% of the assigned shift time. Ensuring that plant safety rules and policies are enforced. Ensuring that plant quality requirements are understood and met by all assigned employees. Working closely with Customer Service, Planning, Quality, and Shipping departments to ensure product needed for customer orders is produced on a timely basis and to quality specifications. Effectively managing shop floor manufacturing operations including: Timely shift startups and shutdowns Adherence to production schedules Accurate and timely reporting of production and labor Training, development, and motivation of shop floor personnel Adherence to plant labor contract requirements Lead production meetings (Salaried, Hourly) Meeting assigned financial goals and budgets. Assist/Own new capital implementation within department Capex – Installation of new equipment Implementation of lean manufacturing techniques including but not limited to: Safety and Housekeeping (5 S) Continuous improvement (Process improvements) Improvements/Upgrades to extrusion lines and compounding mixers Quick changeovers Lead new technologies within the department Supervises 3 shift managers and 5 to 10 team leads with 50 to 100 production employees Participate in cross functional team meetings to solve problems Support local end users for knowledge gaps and overall digital process strength. Perform and support testing for new projects, change requests, upgrades, etc. Create incident tickets as needed for any technical issues. Continuously update training materials, testing information and process documentation. Participate with CPR for regional/global collaboration.
