About The Position
The Production Manager is responsible for all aspects of a project after it has been sold, covering both kitchen and bathroom brands. This role involves managing the production schedule, leading installation crews, resolving technical issues encountered in the field, and ensuring homeowner satisfaction from the initial site visit to the final walkthrough. This is a hands-on leadership position where the manager will direct crews and subcontractors, and also perform tasks themselves, such as stepping in to keep a job on track, covering for absent crew members, and personally handling challenging installations. The manager will lead a team of five in-house technicians and helpers for kitchens and bathrooms, as well as oversee a network of subcontractors specializing in plumbing, electrical, tile, countertops, and painting.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing residential remodeling production as a superintendent, production manager, or lead foreman.
- Strong hands-on skills in cabinetry and finish carpentry.
- Working knowledge of bathroom trades (plumbing, electrical, tile) with the ability to perform the work directly.
- Ability to read plans, layouts, and cabinet specifications.
- Valid NJ driver's license.
- Reliable transportation.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the kitchen technicians and bath crew (five direct reports).
- Set and maintain quality standards for cabinetry and bathroom work.
- Cross-train the team to ensure no single trade relies on one individual.
- Assign daily tasks and ensure crew productivity.
- Manage the installation calendar for both kitchen and bathroom brands.
- Maintain a rolling three-week look-ahead schedule.
- Schedule and manage subcontractors, ensuring adherence to agreed-upon dates.
- Confirm that all necessary materials are on-site and complete before work commences.
- Resolve fabrication, layout, and field-condition problems on-site.
- Oversee kitchen tasks including cabinet refacing, custom cabinet installation, finish carpentry, and countertops.
- Oversee bathroom remodels, including plumbing, electrical, tile, and waterproofing.
- Approve and document change orders when field conditions necessitate them, escalating before proceeding with additional work.
- Serve as the primary homeowner contact from the start of installation through project completion and punch list resolution.
- Communicate daily updates to homeowners on active jobs, detailing completed and upcoming tasks.
- Address homeowner concerns on-site promptly and professionally.
- Identify projects requiring permits and ensure timely filing (a coordinator handles the filing and tracking).
- Perform same-day photo documentation in CompanyCam at every project stage.
- Maintain daily logs in JobTread during the installation process.
- Conduct final walkthroughs, manage the punch list to completion, and execute warranty work.

- Pay: $85,000–$105,000, based on experience
