About The Position

Berman Auto Group is looking for a Production Manager to lead our high-volume shop in Niles, IL. This role is an opportunity for Master Technicians, Journeymen Technicians, or experienced Service Managers to advance their careers. The Production Manager will oversee shop production, improve efficiency, and contribute to a profitable, high-performing service department, allowing them to step away from hands-on repair work while still utilizing their technical expertise.

Requirements

Experience as a Journeyman/Master Technician and/or Service Manager within a dealership environment
Understanding of flat-rate hours
Exceptional organizational, multitasking, and communication skills
Comfortable navigating Dealership Management Systems (DMS) and standard shop software
Ability to positively motivate, manage, and develop a diverse team of technicians
Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record

Responsibilities

Direct, monitor, and dispatch technician workloads to maximize daily efficiency
Maintain seamless communication between Service Advisors, Technicians, and Management to keep everyone on the same page
Relay repair orders quickly, minimize delays, and handle Used Car Inspection ROs with accuracy
Keep Service Advisors updated on repair statuses, potential delays, and parts requests
Track technician productivity goals, manage shop maintenance, and order/organize special tools
Keep the Service Manager updated with daily status and activity reports
