About The Position
The Production Manager is responsible for all aspects of project execution after a sale is made, covering both kitchen and bathroom remodeling brands. This role involves managing the production schedule, leading installation crews, resolving technical issues in the field, and ensuring homeowner satisfaction from the start of the project to the final walkthrough. It is a hands-on leadership position where the manager will direct crews and subcontractors, and also perform hands-on work, stepping in to assist with jobs, cover for absent crew members, and handle challenging installations. The manager will lead a team of five in-house technicians and helpers, as well as a network of subcontractors in various trades.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience managing residential remodeling production (superintendent, production manager, or lead foreman).
- Strong hands-on skills in cabinetry and finish carpentry.
- Working knowledge of bathroom trades (plumbing, electrical, tile).
- Ability to perform the work hands-on, not just direct it.
- Ability to read plans, layouts, and cabinet specifications.
- Valid NJ driver's license and reliable transportation.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop kitchen technicians and bath crew (five direct reports).
- Set and maintain quality standards for cabinetry and bathroom work.
- Cross-train team members to ensure no single trade relies on one person.
- Assign daily work and ensure crew productivity.
- Own the install calendar across both brands.
- Maintain a rolling three-week look-ahead schedule.
- Schedule and manage subcontractors, ensuring they meet their deadlines.
- Confirm material availability and completeness before work commences.
- Resolve fabrication, layout, and field-condition problems on site.
- Perform hands-on work including cabinet refacing, custom cabinet installation, finish carpentry, countertops, full bathroom remodels (plumbing, electrical, tile, waterproofing).
- Make decisions regarding change orders due to field conditions and escalate as needed.
- Serve as the primary homeowner contact from install start to punch completion.
- Communicate daily on active jobs, detailing progress and upcoming tasks.
- Address homeowner concerns on site promptly and professionally.
- Identify projects requiring permits and ensure timely filing (handled by a coordinator).
- Conduct same-day photo documentation in CompanyCam at every stage.
- Maintain daily logs in JobTread during installation.
- Conduct final walkthroughs, manage punch lists to completion, and execute warranty work.
