About The Position

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Production Manager to join the Data Center Power and Control Team in Farmingdale, NY and support 2nd Shift (approx 3:30pm - Midnight). This position is responsible for managing all manufacturing areas to ensure that production, quality and safety standards are achieved according to set production schedules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment is required; metal fabrication preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years effectively leading and supervising others is required.
  • Knowledge of ERP system is required; SAP experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills are required.
  • Strong leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to supervise and manage others is required.
  • Ability to think strategically and tactically with a solid business acumen and understanding of multiple functional areas is required.
  • Must be highly collaborative, able to work effectively across functions and support an environment of innovation and creative change.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.

Nice To Haves

  • metal fabrication preferred
  • SAP experience is preferred.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
  • Sheet metal manufacturing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Execute production plan through the efficient use of staffing, materials, equipment and other resources and setting production goals.
  • Monitor production metrics to identify and resolve issues and implement process improvements.
  • Participate in daily walkthroughs/field tours and communicate priorities in shift handoff meetings.
  • Determine staffing requirements and make recommendations to senior leadership regarding compensation, performance and shift coverage.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance, turnaround, and downtime and communicate such with senior leadership.
  • Ensure training processes, equipment and tool requirements comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Coach teams on best practices, performance issues and employee relations concerns to resolve problems.
  • Ensure manufactured components meet engineering specifications and quality standards.
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory transaction according to established processes.
  • Monitor productivity and labor efficiency.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to support performance, address workplace concerns, and maintain a productive work environment.
  • Promote and enable cross-training and continuous improvement for all employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.
