About The Position

As a Production Technician, you are a member of a production crew and report to a supervisor of an assigned production area. You contribute to plant performance by following operating principles for assigned equipment and standard operating procedures in your area of responsibility. The Fort Atkinson plant is a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment operating 24/7, 365 days a year. Crews work three days on and three days off, rotating between day and night shifts every nine weeks (6 a.m.–6 p.m. / 6 p.m.–6 a.m.). This onsite position is based in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Regular in-person engagement is required, and travel or local commuting between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required. The starting hourly rate is $32.40; the rate is determined in part by education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and market data. Daily overtime applies after eight hours, and the role offers a quarterly gainshare bonus. Benefits start on day one.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent education.
At least one year of experience in a mechanical job-related field, with demonstrated mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools.
Legal authorization to work in the United States; the company will not sponsor employment visas for this opening.

Responsibilities

Follow 5S standards and job safety practices and policies, including food safety, personal protective equipment, and emergency procedures.
Operate, adjust, and repair high-speed production equipment to meet plant production goals.
Assist with preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
Inspect aluminum for proper quality standards and customer specifications.
Build positive relationships across the designated team through collaboration, communication, and ethical integrity.
