About The Position

Spring Glen Fresh Foods is seeking a Production Maintenance Mechanic for a 1st Shift Position. This role involves performing general maintenance assignments, utilizing well-developed mechanical skills under minimal supervision. The mechanic is responsible for adhering to food safety, legal, and quality policies, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety, product quality, and food security. Adherence to LOTO and all common safety practices, including wearing protective equipment, is required. Key duties include repairing, maintaining, and adjusting various types of machines, equipment, and the physical plant. The position also entails assisting the Maintenance Supervisor with ordering supplies and parts, performing preventative maintenance according to schedule, and completing all required documentation. The mechanic must ensure all maintenance work complies with safety and GMPs and maintain clean work areas. Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor are also part of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Performing general maintenance assignments, utilizing well developed mechanical skills under minimal supervision
  • Following food safety, legal and quality policies including but not limited to: Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety, product quality, food security, etc.
  • Adhere to LOTO and all common safety practices or rules including the wearing of protective equipment as required
  • Repair, maintain, and adjust various types of machines, equipment, and physical plant under minimal supervision
  • Assist Maintenance Supervisor in ordering supplies, parts, etc.
  • Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with established schedule
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, operating manuals, and schematics in order to effectively perform work assignments
  • Report any equipment or building condition requiring maintenance to Maintenance Supervisor
  • Complete all documentation as required by Maintenance Supervisor
  • Ensure that all maintenance work is performed in compliance with all safety and GMPs
  • Keep work areas clean in accordance with good housekeeping practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor
