Position Summary MAG Aerospace is looking for an Sr. A&P with Inspection Authority to work in our facility in Sanford, NC. The Aircraft Mechanic will perform daily and periodic aircraft maintenance, fueling, inspections, and documentation for specified aircraft(s). Must possess a level of experience necessary to inspect all aircraft assigned. The mechanic is proficient in the use of the current maintenance management systems utilized to maintain, Army aircraft forms and records, and computes basic weight and balance records. Participates in maintenance test flights and operation checks if required. The candidate ensures compliance with aircraft configuration control, Army oil analysis Program, and test measuring diagnostic equipment calibration. Aircraft mechanic will provide lower-level technicians guidance in aircraft repair and technical inspection techniques and procedures according to directives, technical manuals, work standards, and operational policies. The candidate prepares evaluations, special reports, and records for aircraft maintenance repair, and related activities. Personnel filling these positions are required to meet the qualifications in AR 95-20. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Duties include, but not limited to : Performs routine duties such as furnishing materials, tools, and supplies to the mechanic; lifting and holding materials in place during operation; cleaning work areas and machines, tools, and equipment; cleans aircraft, interior, and exterior parts and assemblies with solvents or other cleaning solutions; inflates tires; fills gasoline tanks and oil reservoirs; and greases aircraft, using grease gun; and may assist flight line mechanic, worker, or servicer in servicing and repairing aircraft prior to flight. Assists in towing and jacking aircraft, disconnecting instruments, ignition systems, fuel, and oil lines. Assists in dismantling, repairing, overhauling, or replacing parts and assemblies such as engines, plumbing, and hydraulic systems, and aircraft structural sections. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems and to provide technical assistance, guidance, and instruction to other employees as needed. Assembles disassembles and/or modifies aircraft components by changing, removing, replacing, or upgrading aerospace vehicle sub-components, consumables, and expendables to correct failures or implement upgrades or modifications. Read and interpret manufacturer's maintenance manuals and technical data. Perform required maintenance activities. Maintain accountability and serviceability of test sets, special tools, and support equipment. Percentage of Travel Required: 0%-30%, if applicable in duties
