About The Position

The Production Machinist is responsible for operating and monitoring a variety of manual machine tools such as manual lathes, drill presses, bandsaws, grinders or special purpose machines to shape metal work pieces to specification on a production basis.

Requirements

Three years related manufacturing experience required.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Manual dexterity and mechanical inclination to work with all sizes of machinery and parts.
Ability to read simple blueprints and technical specifications.
Ability to handle non-routine, standard projects and tasks.
Basic understanding of mathematics including geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to handle routine projects and tasks under close supervision.
Able to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English.

Responsibilities

Perform simple, routine and repetitive machining using standard procedures, tools and equipment.
Perform simple sizing and shape calculations using simple math and trig concepts and formulas.
Determine simple machine set-ups and tooling requirements.
Effectively perform material handling activities such as crating, packing, shipping, receiving, picking, lifting, moving and using materials handling equipment when necessary.
Utilize small and large tools, hoists, dollies, and other devices when necessary.
Comply with all safety procedures in each area assigned, including but not limited to, wearing protective clothing, special handling of chemicals, special handling of product, safety/rescue equipment usage, etc.
Interact and communicate with all levels of employees within the Company, as well as suppliers, customers and peers effectively.
Comply with policies, procedures, standards and rules of the Company.
Maintain quality assurance policy consistent with ISO standards.
Maintain work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
Punctual, regular and consistent attendance.
Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
