About The Position

The Production Machine Operator will safely operate and control various machines and equipment involved in production. Assigned machines may include presses, slitters, knife cutters, and similar equipment. The operator will produce the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances, measure finished parts with precision tools, and maintain logs and records of units produced. This role also involves inspecting and performing basic maintenance on equipment, and maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work area.

Requirements

Ability to follow directions and work well in a team environment.
Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs and documentation.
Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
At least one year of related experience required.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required for all positions, and certain positions may require specific types of legal work authorizations.

Nice To Haves

Associates degree or completion of related apprenticeship program preferred.
Completion of on-the-job training may be substituted for educational requirements.

Responsibilities

Operating production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications.
Producing the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.
Measuring finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications.
Maintaining logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
Inspecting equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.
Maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
Performing other related duties as assigned.
