The Production Machine Operator performs basic set-ups and operates automatic machines in accordance with established shop practices. This role involves producing parts according to blueprints, router packages, specifications, and special instructions, while also recognizing and adjusting for machine out-of-tolerance conditions. The operator will perform basic trial runs, check parts for conformance using gauges and shop floor systems, and remedy minor machine malfunctions. Major discrepancies are reported to a lead or supervisor. The role requires determining and performing proper feed and speed combinations, and providing necessary information to manufacturing and engineering teams. Work operations are performed under supervision, and tooling is checked and reworked as needed. The operator will lay out parts for machining, examine products for quality standards, and perform record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and adhere to all safety regulations. Compliance with federal, local, and state government rules, LISI Aerospace policies, and HSE procedures is mandatory. The position requires attending all provided training, adhering to HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements, and maintaining safe operating procedures. Any known or suspected nonconformance to company procedures or legal requirements must be immediately reported to management. Continuous improvement of HSE performance through objectives, targets, measurement, and reporting is expected. Waste elimination initiatives, such as recycling opportunities, are also part of the role.
