Machine Operator- Fri-Sun 5am-5pm
About The Position
Gregory Galvanizing & Metal Processing is seeking an experienced machine operator for a Friday-Sunday, 5am-5pm shift, totaling 12 hours per day. Employees will be paid for 40 hours if they complete the full shift each day. The hourly wage is $22.66. The company offers opportunities for learning additional skills through on-the-job training, leading to advancement and increased pay. The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and operating machinery safely and responsibly to ensure continuous and efficient production. This role requires reliability, attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and a willingness to learn and improve. Collaboration with a helper and other team members is essential to maximize efficiency and profits by minimizing production interruptions and issues. A Helper will assist the Machine Operator by following instructions, adhering to safety regulations, proactively assisting production, and removing and stacking material.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a machine operator
- Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.)
- Understanding of production procedures
- Adherence to and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)
- Attention to detail
- Teamwork and communication skills
- Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 75 pounds
Responsibilities
- Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle
- Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
- Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines with assistance of helper
- Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
- Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
- Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
- Maintain activity logs
