About The Position

Johns Manville is seeking motivated individuals to join their team as Production Operators at their Fernley, NV location. This temp-to-hire, full-time role offers opportunities for growth and advancement through skill progression. While no prior experience is required, previous experience in industrial settings such as manufacturing, warehouse operations, or construction is preferred. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and understand work instructions and product specs.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages).
  • Beginner to intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office).
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Incumbent must be physically able to perform essential job functions.
  • Perform repetitive hand motions and manual tasks.
  • Work safely in a fast-paced, dusty environment with varying temperatures.
  • Adapt to a rotating 8- or 12-hour shift schedule.
  • Bend, stoop, kneel, and reach overhead regularly.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in an industrial environment preferred.
  • Previous experience in industrial settings such as manufacturing, warehouse operations, or construction is preferred and can be beneficial to success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor production lines and ensure smooth operation during your shift.
  • Communicate effectively via radio with team members.
  • Perform hands-on tasks such as cutting material, sampling products, moving materials, and operating a forklift.
  • Support housekeeping efforts including emptying trash carts and general clean-up.
  • Assist with equipment start-ups and complete preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Begin learning additional key roles as part of your skills progression (Levels 2–4).
  • Understand and follow finished product specifications.
  • Take on additional task as assigned by your supervisor.
