About The Position

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring production equipment on the new line, following recipes and safety procedures, completing required documentation, and keeping the work area clean and organized. This role requires adherence to food safety standards, GMP, allergen control, HACCP, food defense, and SQF requirements. The operator will mix doughs, operate various production equipment, troubleshoot basic issues, and maintain a clean and safe work environment. They will also monitor upstream and downstream equipment, clean thoroughly, and report any concerns to supervisors. Flexibility in scheduling, including weekends and holidays, and willingness to assist in other departments are necessary. Attendance at required training sessions is mandatory.

Requirements

  • Previous experience operating and maintaining production equipment and ensuring efficient operation of the production line is required.
  • Ability to stand for the entire shift.
  • Ability to climb steps and ladders.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, and assist in other departments as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Work safely and follow all company safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Understand and follow all Food Safety, GMP, allergen, HACCP, food defense, and SQF requirements.
  • Read, understand, and follow production recipes and specifications.
  • Mix doughs according to established recipes and procedures.
  • Operate mixers, timers, batch recipe systems, digital scales, and other assigned production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot basic process-related issues within established recipe and production guidelines.
  • Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures and accurately document lot numbers and production information.
  • Clean and refill ingredient bins and ensure bins are labeled with the correct lot numbers.
  • Monitor and assist with upstream and downstream equipment to maintain continuous production.
  • Properly clean mixers, equipment, and work areas during and after production runs and changeovers.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Immediately report food safety, quality, equipment, or safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Follow supervisor direction and support other members of the shift as needed.
  • Attend all required safety, food safety, GMP, and other company training.
