About The Position

Safely and efficiently operate equipment to which is assigned in a manner that ensures Company standards for quality are continuously met while consistently attaining goals for productivity. This role involves performing all tasks and functions of the job in a safe manner that upholds Company standards for product quality. The operator will work all regular and overtime scheduled shifts and be trained to satisfactorily operate various packaging line equipment, including fillers, case packers, labelers, and palletizers. The position requires knowledge of changeover requirements and the ability to execute them efficiently, as well as minimizing and shortening downtime. Daily line routines for set-up, start-up, and shut down are also part of the responsibilities. Operators will work on a rotating basis and may provide training to new candidates and assist in the development of peers. Continuous learning and application of knowledge to improve line performance are expected, along with attending company-sponsored training.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and have a positive attitude.
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in food manufacturing is preferred.
  • Qualified experience on current plant packaging machinery is beneficial.
  • Experience working with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) preferred.
  • Experience with quality and hygiene requirements common in food manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience working in a production environment with food or other FDA regulated products preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all tasks and functions of the job in a safe manner that upholds Company standards for product quality.
  • Work all regular and overtime scheduled shifts.
  • Trained to satisfactorily operate any of the following packaging line equipment, filler, case packer, labeler, palletizer
  • Is knowledgeable of requirements of the various changeovers and takes the lead in efficiently and effectively executing them as necessary throughout the production schedule.
  • Makes every reasonable effort to avoid downtime or to shorten periods of unavoidable downtime.
  • Knowledgeable of daily line routines for set-up, start-up, and/or shut down and perform each as the need for them applies.
  • Operates equipment on rotating basis with other operators.
  • Provides varying levels of “on-the-job” training to new operator candidates as well as assisting with continuing development of peer and lesser experienced operators as need and opportunity presents.
  • Makes an ongoing effort to expand personal base of knowledge in regard to function of this position and increasingly applies this knowledge over time to continuously improve overall line performance.
  • Attends Company sponsored training and informational meetings when scheduled.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.
