About The Position

The company is seeking a Production Line Manager to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of production processes, support performance targets, and lead production activities within a shift. This role involves coordinating Line Coordinators, acting as a decision-maker, and upholding Manufacturing Area standards according to the OPEN+ model. The Production Line Manager will serve as a role model on the shop floor, ensuring safety, housekeeping, and asset care, while also contributing to value stream activities, waste reduction, and continuous improvement through the use of OPEN+ tools. Coaching the crew towards improved productivity, safety, and quality, organizing and supervising direct and indirect reports, and making proposals for organizational and headcount strategies are key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Previous leadership in a Manufacturing environment
  • 3-5 years of prior experience working on a production floor
  • Strong understanding of the production process and common challenges
  • Scheduling and resource management with workforce
  • Team leadership and supervisory skills
  • Quality control and assurance knowledge of quality standards is crucial
  • University/master's degree in engineering, Business Administration, Management, or equivalent education
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Well-developed IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SAP, PLM)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, collaboration, teamwork, customer orientation, quick learning, and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Act as a role model for the shift crew, ensuring respect for safety standards and rules, high standards of housekeeping, and proper care of assets through maintenance and cleaning activities.
  • Ensure all assets within the assigned area and units are maintained and the machinery's technical state is kept in good working condition by escalating anomalies to the appropriate line structure.
  • Actively contribute to the Value Stream activities organization to meet volume objectives cost-effectively, with a high focus on waste reduction.
  • Support indicated synergies across different shifts to align with plans and existing standards.
  • Adopt OPEN+ tools to support the crew in identifying inefficiencies' root causes, contributing to their measurement, driving action plans, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Coach the BU crew's organization towards a continuous improvement process for productivity, Safety, and Quality so that deviations or shortfalls are rapidly highlighted and addressed by employees through their prompt corrective actions.
  • Organize, supervise, and coach the work of the direct and indirect reports, as defined by the Line structure.
  • Make proposals to management and implement agreed-upon organizational and headcount strategies through effective hiring, assessment, training, and development plans.
