About The Position

In a welding team environment, the Production Lead evaluates workloads and provides direction to designated teams while promoting safe operations. The role communicates with the supervisor and other ORBIS personnel about activities that affect safety, quality, or production. The lead also coordinates new-employee training and onboarding with Human Resources, supports continuous-improvement activities, and helps maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Welding certification.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and distribute welding workloads to Welding Line Leads as needed.
• Coordinate with Human Resources on training and onboarding new Welding department employees.
• Ensure teams produce products that meet quality specifications.
• Learn and comply with safety requirements and protocols for working in a welding environment.
• Respond to assigned requests, complete work according to priority, and communicate work status to the supervisor.
• Work safely and efficiently using required personal protective and safety equipment in accordance with STW documentation; follow proper training techniques when STW documentation is unavailable for a process.
• Participate in and promote Continuous Improvement, 5S, and STW activities.
• Contribute to team efforts.
• Ensure teams maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Be trained and certified in area assignments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
