About The Position

In a welding team environment, the Production Lead evaluates workloads and provides direction to designated teams while supporting safe operations. The role communicates with the supervisor and other ORBIS personnel about activities affecting safety, quality, or production. It also coordinates new-employee training and onboarding with Human Resources, supports quality and continuous-improvement efforts, and helps maintain a clean, safe work environment. The employee must be trained and certified in assigned areas and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and distribute welding workloads to Welding Line Leads as needed.
• Coordinate with Human Resources the training and onboarding of new employees in the Welding department.
• Ensure teams produce products that meet quality specifications.
• Gain familiarity with and comply with safety requirements and protocols for working in a welding environment.
• Respond to assigned requests, complete work based on priority, and communicate work status with the supervisor.
• Work safely and efficiently using required personal protective and safety equipment and devices, in accordance with STW documentation; follow proper training techniques where STW documentation has not been developed.
• Participate in continuous improvement and promote and sustain CI, 5S, and STW activities.
• Contribute to team efforts.
• Ensure teams maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Maintain training and certification in assigned areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
