About The Position

Perma-Pipe in Vars, Ontario Canada is hiring General Labourers to support our growing business. Perma-Pipe Canada, Ltd. is a dynamic, global supplier of pipe coating solutions and factory pre-insulated piping systems serving the oil & gas, district heating and cooling, and industrial markets. With a strong focus on quality, safety, and innovation. The role is situated in Vars, Ontario Canada and is not a remote or hybrid position.

Requirements

• Ability to work overtime.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test.
• Raise/lower or move objects horizontally.
• Frequent wrist/hand motions.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
• Ability to respond quickly to sounds.
• Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
• Visual acuity required for accuracy and thoroughness of work.
• Standing/walking for more than 90% of shift, including long distances.
• Ability to work in extreme weather.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools, equipment and procedures utilized with all coating types
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions which are applicable to the work
• Experience a plus – but NOT required.

Responsibilities

• Perform multiple tasks within the pipe coating processing plant.
• Operate panels to ensure pipe coating process remains constant.
• Assist in the foam application process.
• Assist in maintenance of foam equipment, inspect foam coating.
• Assist in shutdowns and startups.
• Assist Forklift Operators in loading and offloading pipes.
• Perform pipe rack construction and maintenance.
• Assist in preparation for truck loading and offloading.
• Participate in safety/toolbox meetings.
• Participate in on-the-job training and any additional training.
• Maintain proper housekeeping in assigned work area.
• Other duties as required.
