Burke Corporation is hiring a Production Laborer for its second shift. Production Laborers may work in the Grindroom or Packroom. Grindroom duties include supplying meat from receiving coolers using a pallet jack, inspecting and grinding product, removing pallets and trash, and operating a metal detector belt and auger. Packroom duties include repetitive meat-packaging tasks such as inspecting product quality, assembling boxes, filling and sealing bags, weighing bags, and potentially palletizing by hand. Team members also assist with coordinating and running a food-processing line. Employees must follow plant safety rules and Good Manufacturing Practices, learn and perform multiple positions, fill in for other plant positions as needed, and carry out duties assigned by a supervisor. Training is provided for multiple positions and electric pallet-jack operation. The role is based in a fast-paced food-production environment, including work in temperatures of 40–50 degrees and 32 degrees in the cooler. The stated shift runs Monday through Friday, with weekends as the production schedule requires; available shift times vary by work area.
