About The Position

The Production Inventory Control Manager II primary responsibility is to maintain optimal scheduling practices and accurate inventory levels to maximize profitability and customer on time delivery and satisfaction. This position manages the production scheduling function of assigned sites to ensure the development, deployment and execution of productions schedules are optimal and accounted in the appropriate systems. Depending on the structure of the assigned sites this position may also manage the warehouse activities including shipping and receiving. The position is also responsible for providing accurate and timely lead time estimates and order status information as well as aligning scheduling, inventory and warehouse functions to ensure delivery metrics are achieved. This position will work cross functionally with sales, customer service, shipping, purchasing, production, and accounting to develop processes for inventory, manufacturing, and production control and lead in the resolution of a diverse range of problems consistent with the goals that support our mission and vision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Management, Production Scheduling or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing inventory management and or production scheduling required
  • 2 years of experience with Enterprise Resource Planning systems required

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and execute production control procedures to ensure movement of materials in the production cycle is optimal and accurately accounted in required systems.
  • Plan and coordinate production schedules including frequent reviews of factors impacting schedule adherence and adjust as necessary.
  • Review production specifications and identify and report plant capacity constraints.
  • Implement adequate inventory management procedures and execute them to ensure inventory levels are present when needed and accurately reflected in the Enterprise Resource Planning system.
  • Report manpower and material shortage problems in a timely manner and assist in resolving gaps.
  • Tracks weekly production status reports and works with managers to remove barriers to meet productions schedules and shipments.
  • Monitor demand forecast, raw materials workflow, schedules and finished goods inventories to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate with managers to develop and execute production and warehouse plans to meet orders and required shipments.
  • Ensure accurate cycle counts and inventories to meet production needs while optimizing cost.
  • Develop effective scheduling process to achieve production objectives.
  • Coordinate with production and purchasing to ensure component parts and customer supplied part needs are communicated to affect stakeholders.
  • May be assigned to manage end-to-end order process for specific customers including but not limited to entering and tracking orders managing samples, backorders and replacement drop ship orders, entering daily shipment PO and invoices, creating shipping labels, etc.
  • Point of contact of white glove orders
  • Interface with customers, carriers, as well as internal functional partners (production, customer service, sales, etc.) to ensure timely delivery of orders. Adjust delivery schedules as aligned.
  • Implement ISO standards and procedures and ensure adherence to standards set by the company, regulatory authorities, and or customers.
  • Identifies areas of opportunity to reduce waste, control costs, and improve efficiency.
  • Employ a mindset of best practices and continuous improvement by applying and improving approved processes, policies and systems.
  • Communicates effectively internally and externally.
  • Provide accurate and timely lead time estimates and orders status information.
  • Manages material resources in a cost-efficient manner to include their proper utilization and maintenance
  • Ensures appropriate staffing levels and excellent leadership and alignment of assigned team including managing performance and meeting department and plant goals.
