About The Position

This internship offers a comprehensive understanding of the residential construction industry, equipping participants with marketable skills. The Eagle Academy program provides productive feedback and fosters growth through learning. The internship focuses on gaining observational experience with the Eagle Construction Process, job-specific training within one of four main areas of Eagle Construction, and workforce readiness.

Requirements

  • Working towards a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Excellent people and communication skills.
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic, with a strong desire to succeed.
  • Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel and MS Project.
  • Able to multi-task and meet various project deadlines.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and clients.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Observe collaborative team meetings and workflow assignments in Sales, Design & Marketing, Financial & Land Acquisition Management, Field Operations (Development & Production), and Preconstruction (Purchasing/Estimating/Drafting).
  • Engage in relationship-building by asking questions of Eagle Employees and "Rotation Supervisor" during the introductory period to help clarify responsibilities of team members.
  • Work within one of the four main areas of Eagle Construction as a focus for the remainder of the internship, working directly for a supervising "Mentor" and perform real-time tasks to further the goals of that department.
  • Attend weekly one-on-one feedback sessions with the Mentor to seek clarity of roles, set learning goals, and further foster an understanding of the overall vision of Eagle Construction of VA.
  • Prepare for and participate in an extensive interview process with supervisor, a member of the Eagle Leadership Team, and Human Capital Manager, to discuss the overall experience, performance related to goals, the industry, and potential paths forward.
