About The Position

MSI Express is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive student to join our summer internship program, focusing on process optimization, documentation development, and startup efficiency for manufacturing projects. This paid internship provides hands-on experience in engineering, operations, and continuous improvement within a dynamic manufacturing environment. The internship will involve working directly on continuous improvement projects and equipment installations that impact production efficiency, gaining experience in equipment commissioning, process optimization, and manufacturing best practices, and engaging with experienced engineers and production teams to develop practical solutions for manufacturing challenges. Interns will assist in the startup and optimization of manufacturing lines, focusing on efficiency and throughput improvements, support the development of work instructions, centerline documents, and process improvement plans, and monitor and assess production throughput and operational efficiency for new product lines. Interns will also build a presentation for upper management covering their internship experience, projects worked on, changes made, results achieved, and recommendations for improvement.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in an Engineering, Manufacturing, or related academic program.
Strong technical aptitude and attention to detail.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Interest in process engineering, manufacturing operations, and continuous improvement.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with engineering and operations teams.

Responsibilities

Assist in the startup and optimization of manufacturing lines, focusing on efficiency and throughput improvements.
Support the development of work instructions, centerline documents, and process improvement plans.
Monitor and assess production throughput and operational efficiency for new product lines.
