About The Position

As a Production Engineering Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to work on the Best Buy Studios team. Best Buy Studios is the creative production delivery capability within Best Buy Marketing, responsible for building and supporting the technical systems, tools, and infrastructure that enable high‑volume content creation across all media platforms. The Engineering team partners closely with Production, Art, Asset Management, and Facilities to ensure studio environments and workflows operate reliably in a fast‑paced production setting. This internship also will give you the opportunity to develop industry-related skills in a professional environment, network with Best Buy employees and explore a wide variety of career paths. This internship will be available from June to August 2026. This role is on site, which means you would be required to work on site at our production studio in Bloomington, Minnesota. This location is not accessible via public transportation, so you must have access to reliable transportation. A small transportation assistance stipend may be available to eligible applicants. You’ll be asked to come into the studio office 3 days a week, with occasional off‑site trips to support productions. This internship does not have the potential to lead to a full‑time opportunity. Housing will not be provided. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Must be participating in Best Buy Teen Tech Center Career Pathways program
  • Must be able to work Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (and the occasional Monday or Friday) between the hours of 8:00am-5pm
  • Must be able to commit to the internship start and end date of 6/15/2026 - 8/9/2026
  • Must be able to work in person at the production studio (6205 W. 111th St, Bloomington, MN 55438)

Nice To Haves

  • Valid driver’s license and access to independent transportation preferred
  • Interest in engineering, technology, or technical operations supporting creative or production environments
  • Familiarity with computers, basic networking concepts, or audiovisual technology
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite in a Mac environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Curiosity and willingness to ask questions and learn new technical systems
  • Ability to quickly learn new tools and adapt in a fast‑paced environment
  • Self‑starter who shows initiative and problem‑solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Support the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of studio technology used in video and still content production
  • Assist with engineering support for production environments, including cameras, lighting systems, audio, networking, storage, and post‑production workflows
  • Partner with engineers and production teams to test, document, and improve studio systems and workflows
  • Learn how technical decisions impact creative execution in a real‑world, high‑volume content environment
  • Gain exposure to enterprise‑scale creative operations in a collaborative, hands‑on setting
