About The Position

C.H. Thompson is seeking a Production Inspector to join their team. This role is crucial for maintaining quality, safety, and productivity. The primary responsibilities include unmasking parts after painting (removing protective materials like tape, latex, and plugs) and performing touch-up paint work to correct minor defects such as scratches or chips, ensuring color matching and consistency. C.H. Thompson is a leader in the finishing industry, offering services like anodizing, painting, powder coating, intricate masking, and silk screening for various industries including aerospace, automotive, medical, and military. They are ISO 9001:2015, AS9100D, and NADCAP certified.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is preferred.
• Relevant experience in metal finishing, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
• Familiarity with quality control processes and standards.
• Keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Clear communication is essential for reporting findings and collaborating with production teams.
• Ability to identify issues and recommend solutions.
• Basic math and computer skills, ability to use specialized testing tools and machinery.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and read technical documents and blueprints.
• Ensure all products and parts meet stringent quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Carefully remove masking materials (such as tape, latex and plugs) from parts after painting.
• Inspect unmasked areas for any defects or imperfections.
• Apply touch-up paint to correct minor defects (scratches, chips, etc.) in painted finishes, ensuring color matching and consistency.
• Inspect parts thoroughly for adherence to quality standards.
• Document inspection results, including any rework or corrections needed.
• Coordinate and communicate with the Supervisor to address any issues found during inspection.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all safety guidelines and protocols.
