About The Position

C.H. Thompson is currently seeking a Production Inspector to join their team. This role is crucial for maintaining quality, safety, and productivity through a hands-on approach, specifically focusing on unmasking (removing protective materials) and performing touch-up paint work. C.H. Thompson is a premier one-stop-shop for finishing needs, known for improving quality and increasing productivity. They offer services like anodizing, painting, powder coating, intricate masking, and silk screening across various industries including aerospace, agricultural, automotive, computer, electronics, household, industrial, medical, and military. Their customer base ranges from small machine shops to Fortune 500 companies. C.H. Thompson is ISO 9001:2015, AS9100D, and NADCAP certified.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with quality control processes and standards.
  • Keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Clear communication is essential for reporting findings and collaborating with production teams.
  • Ability to identify issues and recommend solutions.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Ability to use specialized testing tools and machinery.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to read technical documents and blueprints.
  • Ensure all products and parts meet stringent quality standards.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in metal finishing, manufacturing, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Carefully remove masking materials (such as tape, latex and plugs) from parts after painting.
  • Inspect unmasked areas for any defects or imperfections.
  • Apply touch-up paint to correct minor defects (scratches, chips, etc.) in painted finishes.
  • Ensure color matching and consistency.
  • Inspect parts thoroughly for adherence to quality standards.
  • Document inspection results, including any rework or corrections needed.
  • Coordinate and communicate with the Supervisor to address any issues found during inspection.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and protocols.
